Hi, I’m Dan. I started Zero B.S. Photos because having your photograph taken shouldn’t need to be such an ordeal.
Headshots were the beginning. The same straightforward approach now runs through teams, studio portraits, events, weddings, acting and editorial work.
The idea
Good photography
needs care.
Not theatre.
Skill, direction and care matter. An unnecessarily complicated production usually doesn’t.
Sometimes the right answer is available light and a camera. Sometimes it is a studio, flash, controlled lighting or a more involved setup. The kit changes with the job. The principle doesn’t.
Keep the process clear. Give people proper direction when they need it. Stay out of the way when they don’t. Make photographs that feel polished without losing the person, atmosphere or moment that made them worth taking.

Nobody should need to arrive knowing how to pose. We give practical direction and keep it understandable.
Right-sized production
Enough equipment to get the result. Not an equipment parade for the sake of looking busy.

Professional editing and careful finishing, without sanding away the person who was actually there.

Behind the camera
Photography came first.
The business came much later.
I got my first camera at 12 and never really stopped.
Since then I’ve photographed on the streets of more than 20 countries, worked press at motorsport events, had work featured at the Paris Street Photo Festival, in both print and digital news media and taught photography one-to-one.
Before Zero B.S. Photos, I spent years working in media, advertising and brand strategy. That means I care about more than whether a photograph is technically good. I care about what it communicates and whether it actually works for the person using it.
